Car Rental Terms and Conditions of our partner TravelExtras

Full payment must be made at the time of booking with a major credit/debit card. Excluding offers and promotions where a deposit is required at the time of booking with the balance payable with a credit/debit card prior to departure date.

Driving Licence:

It is a condition of hire to produce a valid driving licence at the time of rental (this includes the pink or green copy supplied with new photocard licences). Your driving license must have been held for no less than 2 years. Certain driving convictions, particularly those relating to drink / drugs, theft, careless / reckless driving and insurance offences (DVLA endorsements codes UT.CD.DD.DR.BA.TT.AC.IN) will prevent the client from renting. Other offences may incur a surcharge on the damage excess. If in any doubt please contact the supplier or ourselves beforehand. Refunds will not be made on the basis of the supplier refusing to rent under these circumstances. Licenses must be able to be read by the local supplier. If your license contains letters or numbers in an alpha / numeric format unfamiliar to the country you are renting in an international driving license will be required.

Minimum and maximum age limits apply. These vary from country to country from suppliers and between different car groups. The minimum is 23 years and the maximum is 75 years. Drivers between 23 and 25 will incur a young driver supplement. If in any doubt please contact us or the supplier before the rental is due to commence.

Additional Charges

All prices, unless otherwise stated on your voucher, include unlimited mileage, full breakdown cover, third party insurance, collision damage waiver (subject to an excess), theft waiver, airport surcharges, taxes and fees. Prices do not include fuel, one-way rental charges (£25 within the UK and variable throughout Europe and the US). Optional extras such as baby seats, additional drivers, roof racks, snow chains are payable locally. All rentals arriving between 1059pm and 0700am UK or overseas, will be subject to an out of hours fee payable locally. If you intend to take your vehicle across international borders, you must check with us before the rental begins. Failing to do so may invalidate the rental. All UK rentals are subject to a government road fund tax of £1.05 per day + VAT, payable locally.

Refundable Deposits

It is a condition of hire for the car driver to leave a refundable deposit using a major credit card of up to £500.00. (This is for all basic vehicles and may increase if a specialist or premium vehicle is hired. If in doubt, please contact us). Debit or Switch cards are not acceptable. The deposit is for damage excess that will become applicable if the car is returned with any new damage or is stolen. Please ensure you check your vehicle carefully before starting and when finishing your rental. Travel Extras can provide separate insurance cover for the damage excess applicable to your vehicle. Car Types

The vehicle type listed on our website and your voucher is for guidance only. Cars are booked by tariff group and therefore specific makes and models cannot be guaranteed. The car rental supplier reserves the right to supply a vehicle of similar size or specification.

Cancellation Charges

Bookings may be cancelled at any time up to rental commencement subject to a £50.00 cancellation charge or 1 days rental, whichever is the greatest amount.

Cancellations must be made in writing to us either by email: enquiries@travelextras.com or by fax 01582 736728. No refunds will apply to unused rental days.
