Dieppe may have lost its prominence as a major cross-Channel port
since the opening of the tunnel, but in many ways the town is better
for it.
The demolition of the old wedding cake ferry terminal on the harbour
side has made room for the cafés and restaurants to expand,
bringing light to once darkened doorways.
The hill top château-musée has panoramic views across
the seafront which is host to an annual kite festival. Still a bustling
port, the Saturday market draws big crowds from the villages around.
