Le Hâvre - Seine-Maritimehome > regions > Seine-Maritime > places of interest > Le HâvreLe Hâvre dominates the mouth of the Seine and has held on to its place as one of the major western ferry ports, favoured by many who prefer to cut out the drive and spend a little longer on the crossing. Heavy bombing by the Allies contributed to the town being staunchly communist for many years and its stark Stalinesque Eglise St Joseph does looks like it would be more at home in St Petersburg with which Le Hâvre is twinned! But its Musée Malraux (also known as the Musée des Beaux
Arts) is well worth visiting, housing a fine collection of canvasses by
the Impressionists who painted extensively in Normandy.
